Artillery Wars
Pick your munition, find your arc and fire. Turn-based tank battles on destructible 3D battlefields: 39 tanks, 158 weapons, a story campaign and online battles. Help us launch on Google Play and play it before anyone else.
Why we need you: Google Play asks new solo developers to run a closed test with at least 12 testers who stay opted in for 14 days in a row before a game can launch. Every tester who sticks with it for two weeks gets Crater Tanks closer to the store. It takes about two minutes to join.
Use the same Google account for every step: the one signed in to the Play Store on your Android phone.
Open our Google Group and tap Join group. It's only the tester list: nobody can post to it, and you can pick "No email" so it never fills your inbox.
Join the Google GroupThen open the Google Play testing page and tap Become a tester. If it says the app isn't available yet, wait a few minutes after joining the group and try again.
Become a tester on Google PlayTap Download it on Google Play on the testing page and install Crater Tanks. Then please keep it installed and stay opted in for at least 14 days, and play a battle every couple of days. That's what counts towards launch.
Tip: the game is a normal Play Store install, so updates arrive automatically. Testers who leave early stop counting towards the 14 days, so if you need to drop out, email us first and we'll line up a replacement.

An exclusive title, badge and black-and-gold paint, shown beside your name in battles, lobbies and your friends' lists. Every tester whose game goes online before launch gets it, and it will never be sold or offered again.
The full game before it reaches the store: campaign, online battles, the Daily Challenge.
Crater Tanks is made by a tiny indie studio. Every message is read by the person who builds the game.
Bugs you find get fixed before launch, and the beta's ideas go into the updates.
Send feedback by email to support@cratertanks.com, through the feedback form, or privately on the game's Google Play page (testers see a "private feedback" box there). Screenshots and your phone model help a lot.
Android phones and tablets on Android 9 or newer with Vulkan 1.1 graphics, which covers most devices from about 2018 on. If Google Play says your device isn't compatible, that's why: sorry, the game needs that graphics support to run well.
Not yet. Crater Tanks is Android only for now.
No. Crater Tanks is free to play and joining the beta is free. The game has an optional store; you never need it to test. Please don't buy anything during the beta unless we've told you you're on the test-purchase list: Google then shows "Test card, always approves" in the payment sheet and nothing is charged. Without that line, a purchase is a real one.
Please do. Google counts testers who stay opted in for 14 days in a row, and it looks at whether testers actually played. Opening the game every couple of days is plenty. After the 14 days you're welcome to keep playing, and we hope you will.
Launch is an ordinary update of the same app, and the plan is to keep your progress. If something ever has to be reset during the beta, we'll tell testers first. The Founding Commander reward is tied to your account either way.
Just play with an internet connection at least once before launch. The game signs in to a guest account on its own, and our server gives the Founding Commander title, badge and paint to every account created before launch: a thank-you message appears when it arrives. It is tied to that account, so it comes back after a reinstall on the same phone. If you only ever play offline before launch, there is no account from the beta, so the reward can't reach you: open the game online once during the beta to make sure.
Check that you joined the Google Group with the same Google account your phone's Play Store uses (Play Store › your profile picture shows which). Joining can take a few minutes to reach Google Play. Still stuck? Email us your Google account's email address and we'll sort it out.
The same as the released game: online play uses a guest account (your commander name, progress and scores), and the game sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, which you can turn off in Settings. Joining the Google Group shares your Google account's email address with us, and we use it only to run the beta. Details are in the privacy policy; to delete your online account, see Deleting your data.
On the Google Play testing page tap Leave the program, then leave the Google Group. If you can, tell us first: a tester who leaves before day 14 stops counting, so we'll want to line up a replacement.
