Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Crater Tanks game. In it, "we" and "us" mean the Crater Tanks team. It explains what the game collects, why, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. Questions: support@cratertanks.com.

In short

• Offline play stays on your device.
• Online play uses a guest account for your device: your commander name, progress and scores.
• Optional rewarded ads come from Google AdMob, which uses data such as your device's advertising ID.
• Google Play handles payments; we never see your card details.
• We don't sell your personal information, and you can delete your online account from inside the game.

What we collect

Offline play (the campaign, quick battles, pass-and-play and local Wi-Fi games): your progress and settings are saved on your device and aren't sent to us.

Online play. When you use online features (online battles, the cloud save and the Daily Challenge leaderboard), the game creates a guest account for your device. For it we keep:

• A device identifier: a one-way hash of your device's ID, or a random ID. It lets you back into your account on the same device, and isn't used to track you anywhere else.
• Your commander name, shown to other players in battles and on leaderboards.
• Your game progress (cloud save): level, unlocks, currencies, purchases made, VIP level and settings, so your progress survives a reinstall or moves to a new device.
• Online battle results: the mode, your placing, kills, damage and hits, for your online record and matchmaking.
• Daily Challenge scores, shown on the daily leaderboard.
• Technical data: your IP address and connection details, which any online service receives while you're connected. We use them to run the service and keep it secure.

Purchases are made through Google Play. We receive a purchase token and the item bought, to deliver it, restore it and apply VIP points. We never see your payment details.

Ads. The game offers optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob: you choose to watch an ad for a reward. So that an ad is ready when you ask for one, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the game requests ads in the background. Google may collect and use your device's advertising ID, device and app information, your IP address, approximate location and how you interact with ads, to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. If you buy Remove Ads, no ads are shown and the rewards are given without them. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

We don't use any other analytics or tracking services. This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or ads.

Your choices about ads

• Consent: where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK), the game asks for your consent through Google's consent tool before ads are requested. You can change your choice any time in Settings ▸ Ad privacy options.
• Personalized ads: on Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization, in your device's settings (Settings ▸ Google ▸ Ads, or Settings ▸ Security & privacy ▸ Privacy ▸ Ads, depending on your device).
• No ads at all: the Remove Ads purchase turns them off for good.

How we use it

To run online battles and matchmaking, keep your progress safe, show leaderboards, deliver and restore purchases, show the optional ads that help fund the game, prevent cheating and abuse, and answer support requests.

Who we share it with

• Other players see your commander name, your battle results in the battles you play, and your scores on leaderboards.
• OVHcloud hosts our servers (in Oregon, USA) and stores the online data on our behalf.
• Google processes purchases (Google Play) and serves ads (AdMob), under its own privacy policy.
• Authorities, only when the law requires it.

We don't sell your personal information for money. In some places the law counts advertising that uses data like your advertising ID as "sharing"; the ad choices above let you opt out of it.

How long we keep it

Your online account data is kept while your account exists. Server logs are kept only as long as needed to run and secure the service.

Deleting your data

In the game, open Play Online ▸ Delete my online account. That removes your account, cloud save, online battle history and leaderboard scores from our servers. Progress saved on your device stays on your device (uninstalling the game removes it). You can also email support@cratertanks.com and ask us to delete your data.

Children

Crater Tanks isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used the online features, contact us and we'll delete the account.

Where your data is processed

Our servers are in the United States. If you play from elsewhere, your online data is transferred to and processed in the US.

Keeping it safe

Connections between the game and our servers are encrypted (HTTPS and secure WebSockets), and access to the servers is restricted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, or to object to or restrict how it's used. Email support@cratertanks.com; we'll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top, and tell you in the game about significant changes.
